  • How do I pay for services?
Wordwise is partnered with the Florida Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities and Virginia’s K-12 Learning Acceleration Grant in an effort to provide affordable access to speech therapy. We are a preferred provider for New York State Early Intervention Services. Wordwise is able to accept HSA, FSA, credit cards, and debit cards as methods of payment for services. Affordable therapy services are available on a sliding scale through our nonprofit partner—reach out today and ask us about our nonprofit! Wordwise is considered out-of-network for all insurance policies at this time, but we look forward to adding select insurances in the near future! In the meantime, Wordwise can provide Superbills or courtesy bill your insurance plan as an out-of-network provider.
  • Why should I choose Wordwise?
Here at Wordwise, we celebrate that each child is unique. As a boutique private speech therapy practice, we are able to implement thorough speech and language evaluations and treatment while striving to accommodate your schedule and convenience. Our approach to therapy is neurodiversity affirming, and each treatment plan is tailored to the individual needs of the child and their family.
  • What is the effectiveness of telehealth or a hybrid approach?
Several studies have shown that teletherapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy, with the added benefit of receiving therapy in the comfort of your own home. Teletherapy allows for more flexible scheduling and continuity of care to work around your busy lifestyle. A hybrid approach, combining in-person guidance from a speech pathologist with at-home reinforcement through remote learning, can be helpful for children with all types of communication needs.
  • What disorders does Wordwise specialize in?
Wordwise Kids Speech Therapy specializes in speech and language therapy for late talkers, autistic children, language disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, and more. We are always adding new areas of expertise and training!
  • How long does therapy last?
Since every child has unique strengths and difficulties, it is hard to put a timeline on how long your child might need speech therapy. Your speech therapist will work with you on setting goals, implementing a home program, and regularly updating you on your child’s progress so you are always included in treatment decisions.
