How do I pay for services? We are a preferred provider for New York State Early Intervention Services. Wordwise is able to accept HSA, FSA, credit cards, and debit cards as methods of payment for services. We are in network with Northwell Direct Health Insurance, and Cigna Health Insurance. We are considered out-of-network for other insurance policies at this time, but we look forward to adding select insurances in the near future! In the meantime, Wordwise can provide Superbills or courtesy bill your insurance plan as an out-of-network provider.

What is the effectiveness of telehealth or a hybrid approach?Several studies have shown that teletherapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy, with the added benefit of receiving therapy in the comfort of your own home. Teletherapy allows for more flexible scheduling and continuity of care to work around your busy lifestyle. A hybrid approach, combining in-person guidance from a speech pathologist with at-home reinforcement through remote learning, can be helpful for children with all types of communication needs.
-
What disorders do we specialize in?Our family of brands specializes in speech and language therapy for late talkers, autistic children, language disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, and more. We are always adding new areas of expertise and training!

How long does therapy last?Since every child has unique strengths and difficulties, it is hard to put a timeline on how long your child might need speech therapy. Your speech therapist will work with you on setting goals, implementing a home program, and regularly updating you on your child’s progress so you are always included in treatment decisions.
